Last year was effective, and this year turned out just okay.
PERSONAL
I moved to Portugal in June 2022, so this year marked my first year as a resident of Portugal, which has been very nice to me.
My girlfriend, Valentina, has been very busy at work in Italy and I’m proud of how hard she is working. Instead of hopping from one Airbnb to another, we found an apartment in Bari that I can also use when I’m not in PT.
My girlfriend is the one who keeps me grounded. I love that because “the only measure of intelligence is getting what you want out of life”.
I work in SaaS and I run my business because of the money (yes, if not for the money, I’d probably play jazz all day) and sometimes I get too much into it. I also want to work for everything else. Namely, in 2024, I’d like to have:
- The mind of a businessman
- The soul of a musician
- The body of an athlete
HEALTH
My fitness goals haven’t changed since 2020: I wanted to reach 80kg in weight and be able to do 30 push-ups. I completely failed these goals every year.
This year I didn’t exercise at all, aside from playing a lot of padel. I picked up padel last year and it’s still going strong as I have over 300 matches under my belt now. It’s a great sport because I can play it wherever I travel to.
This year I’d like to enroll in a gym, as well as continue to play padel to reach my fitness goals.
MUSIC
In 2023 I played more than 20 gigs, but certainly not to earn a living off of it. I also recorded 3 new CDs as a sideman.
TRAVEL
I traveled quite frequently this year. Aside from going back and forth between Italy and Portugal, major travel included:
- Tenerife, to meet with some friends
- Milan, Pisa and Bologna in Italy, to attend business for my girlfriend
- Cruise in the Mediterranean Sea, just chilling with my girl
BUSINESS
In 2023, we made pretty decent revenue (six figures), but I’m not happy with the results. I have to say I’m never to happy with business results, but that’s just how I am.
The business still relies heavily on me, and I’ve been hiring more people to fill more roles. I’ve been also firing people but my 2 assistants have been with me for a long time, Clarice and Desiree. I met with Clarice IRL for the first time this year which was cool. I’m also proud of the fact that the business still supported Desiree during her pregnancy.
2024 will be about focusing on high-ticket, high-touch, b2b software products.

2023 goals recap
So, my goals for 2024 are pretty much the same as in 2023 on the personal side and health side. Whereas, on the business side, I think we can retain more profit.
